Propane Bbq Cylinder
Question about a new Propane Tank, please answer ASAP.?
Hi,
I just bought a small propane cylinder for my BBQ grill. This is my first time, so I wanted to know the proper way of storing it. Right now I have it in my backyard in an upright position on a table that is right against the back wall of my house. I wanted to make sure that this is the right way to keep it. And just wanted to make sure that since this is a new cylinder, and I haven’t done anything with it, I don’t need to do anything with the relief or safety valve right?
Any other safety tips on the storage of the propane tank would be helpful and greatly appreciated!

Just leave it connected to the grill. When you are finished using it, turn off the service valve of the cylinder. You don’t need to remove it from the appliance.
If this is a spare cylinder, store it upright in a ventilated space, preferably shaded and away from other things like gasoline or paints and stuff. Do not leave it sitting in grass. The bottom of the cylinder will rust quite quickly if you do this on a regular basis and the life of the cylinder will be shortened. Also, the outlet should be capped or plugged to keep debris and insects out.
