Grill Greats Ceramic Briquettes
Does my grill need lava rocks or ceramic briquettes?
I just got a great deal on a pretty nice grill at a garage sale. I cleaned it all up and am excited to give it to my husband for his birthday on Sunday, and I’d like it to be ready so he can cook dinner on it that day. We’ve never had a gas grill before, and since I got it at a garage sale it didn’t come with an owner’s manual. The grill says Char Broil Cooking Zone 1000 on it – it is black with a red lid and an extra burner on the side of the grill. My question is, does anyone know if this grill requires lava rocks or ceramic briquettes? And, if so, which of these would be better – what is the difference? Also, if I do need to get these for the grill, how often do they have to be replaced? (I tried looking on the Char Broil website, but I didn’t find this model for sale, so that wasn’t helpful). Thanks so much for your help!
According to http://grillparts.com “Unfortunately all factory original equipment replacement parts have been discontinued for the Cooking Zone model grills including the cooking grids and briquet holder.”
You could try to give them a call and see if they can give you any advice on this.
